Sarah Dechaene
🏳️⚧️ Keyboardist, Musical Director, Playback Engineer
I am a London-based session keyboardist, musical director and playback engineer, specialising in contemporary pop, rock, EDM and hip-hop performance. I've worked with artists such as Sam Renascent, Axelle Aerts, Boshra, RAMAN., Gene Thomas, Guy Swinnen and Tonya Schamp.
I hold a Master’s degree in Music Performance in Pop and Rock Piano as a graduate from the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. During these studies, I specialised in keyboard and synthesiser performance, and the design and operation of Ableton Live playback systems.
As a keyboard player, I've appeared at several major festivals, including the Mardi Gras Festival in Belgium, the Ghent Festivities and Student Kick-Off Ghent. I've worked in many high-capacity environments, combining keyboard performance, musical direction and live playback operation.
As a playback engineer, I specialise in complex Ableton touring setups. These systems include fail-safe solutions, talkback and cue systems, live looping, patch switching, lighting and video synchronisation, VST instruments, and digital drum pads and triggers.
As a recording artist and producer, I wrote, produced and released the self-titled album sarah in 2023. I am featured as session keyboardist on recordings with RAMAN., Boshra, FAK and Canves, among others. I have appeared as keyboard player across several radio and television platforms, including MENT TV, Qmusic, Radio 2 and Urgent.fm, as well as in official promotional videos for Roland.
